Rehabilitation of the Iron Bridge – Palmones River

Rehabilitation of the Iron Bridge – Palmones River (Los Barrios, Cádiz)

Barberán Group continues to enhance the Campo de Gibraltar region. Yesterday afternoon, we had the privilege of receiving a visit from prominent regional institutional representatives at our construction site:

  • The Regional Minister for Sustainability, Environment, and the Blue Economy of the Andalusian Regional Government, Catalina García.
  • The Regional Government Delegate in the province of Cádiz, Mercedes Colombo.
  • The Second Deputy Mayor of the Los Barrios City Council, Sara Lobato.
  • The Regional Delegate for Sustainability and Environment in Cádiz, Óscar Curtido.
  • The Head of the Protected Natural Areas Service, Felipe Oliveros.
  • This visit highlights the restoration project for the historic Iron Bridge over the Palmones River, an initiative promoted by the Regional Government of Andalucía with a dual objective: to preserve Andalusia's railway heritage and to promote a more sustainable mobility model that respects the natural environment.

At Barberán Group and its subsidiary LARIBAR, responsible for the execution of this project, we want to share our pride in being part of an initiative that connects history, engineering, heritage, and the future.

We are pleased to see how citizens and institutions recognize the importance of transforming symbolic infrastructures into living elements at the service of people.

During the tour, we were able to see the progress made in the structural and landscape restoration, which we are carrying out with the utmost professionalism, safety, and respect for the surroundings of Los Alcornocales Natural Park.

We continue to work with pride in such a symbolic location. Thanks to the entire team involved!
